First of all, an interested candidate must be over the age of 21 to start a cannabis business or work in the cannabis industry. To set up a business, the candidate must be a resident. Because background checks will be conducted on potential business owners and dispensary owners, it is essential that the candidate does not have a criminal background. This means that the candidate must not have been convicted of a felony, especially one that is related to controlled substances.   In fact, candidates must not be assisted or financed by any person that has a criminal background.
